Dear Dancer,

Learning to dance with you has lifted my spirit and changed my life!

I had no idea how profoundly more beautiful life would become when I entered the Go Dance studio with an unlimited new member pass less than three long months ago. In less than eighty days, I’ve experienced over two hundred classes and social dance parties and a whole new dimension of beauty, joy and way has entered my life.

You’ve rocked my world! Some majorly: favorite teachers and dance partners. Some more subtly, met in shared classes, the welcoming studio spaces, out on the social dance floor, or conversations before or after class.

Some of you I’ve gotten to know a bit better, and I felt deepening appreciation for you the more we interacted in the co-creation that is dance and love of dance.

It is with sadness that I must take my leave at this time, as I was so looking forward to continuing to deepen our connection and contribute to the mutual creation of this wonderful dimension of our lives. Darn! Among you I found what feels like a paradise, a place where we come together to create beauty, joy and grow, mutually inspiring one another. But I have other dimensions to my life that I must prioritize at this time. Family calls! I am working to reconcile an estranged marriage. I am learning to lead in the dance, in part, to be able to competently lead my wife in dance, especially at our son’s marriage (when that happens). Our time together at Go Dance has elevated my dance lead competence far faster than seemed possible. If only I had more time here!

So I pray I find a way to return soon. For more immersive experience.

I apologize for not taking more initiative in establishing lasting connections with (most of) you. My shyness and tendency to procrastinate sabotaged that. Hence this last-minute attempt to not lose our ability to connect.

Please drop me a line if you want to stay in touch.

There’s a lot I’m passionate about besides dance, in case you want to connect about other interests. Examples include:

I look forward to hearing from you! Or seeing you again when I return to Austin, or meeting up when you visit California.

God bless!
